About Philipp

Philipp is a German-Brazilian serial entrepreneur and investor with more than 16 years of experience in e-commerce/retail, healthcare, and finance in Europe and Latin America.

Philipp Povel is the co-founder and co-CEO of Berlin-based Fintech Mondu, an innovative B2B payments company. He also serves on the board of Raia Drogasil S.A (RADL3), Brazil's leading pharmacy chain with over 3,000 locations and 60,000 employees.

Mondu, Philipp's current venture, is a rapidly growing B2B payments company operating across Europe. Mondu offers B2B payment services, including embedded payables financing and factoring solutions, integrating seamlessly with platforms that serve SMBs by automating and digitizing accounts receivables and payables processes. In 2022, Mondu raised Germany's largest Series A among fintechs, securing over EUR 125 million in financing (equity + debt).

Prior to Mondu, Philipp co-founded Dafiti, Latin America's leading online fashion and lifestyle e-commerce platform, which went public via Global Fashion Group in 2019. As CEO, he led Dafiti from inception to over USD 800 million in GMV, with approximately 3,500 employees, achieving profitability.

Before that, he co-founded the German e-tailer MyBrands, which was sold to Zalando (ZAL) in 2010.

Philipp began his career at Sal. Oppenheim and worked at JPMorgan before becoming a technology entrepreneur. He was named Personality of the Year 2019 by the German-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, alongside Prof. Dr. Peter Eigen, the founder of Transparency International.
